Community Host

The Role

Embody and share BiteUnite’s core values and strive to achieve our mission by doing the following:

  • Support the creation of a collaborative community environment amongst our members through events, community outreach and relationship-building between members.
  • Help to maintain 100% occupancy for the co-working kitchen.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is fully operational and processes are ticking along smoothly.
  • Support the day-to-day management of the BiteUnite cafe, and help to deliver an exceptional cafe experience.
  • Take the initiative to drive event growth and promote BiteUnite’s service offerings.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify key strategic partners and develop relationships with local organizations to further our mission.
  • Attend networking events to promote BiteUnite and pursue opportunities to recruit new members.
  • Formulate ideas for new channels of revenue and business expansion.
  • Promote the activities and services of our members to support their businesses when required.
  • Explain BiteUnite policies and procedures to members, including but not limited to: membership agreement and billing procedures.
  • Conduct walk-through tours of the kitchen to interested parties.

Community Management & Events

  • Consolidate insights and feedback from members to address any concerns and provide ongoing support
  • Take opportunities to connect members with the community at large, partners and other organisations
  • Supervise and plan development events for the benefit of members
  • Supervise in-kitchen events for compliance with house rules and ensure smooth operations
  • Manage all event operations and communicate with team support.

Kitchen and Cafe Management

  • Barista skills is a plus. Willing to learn the skill if don’t have skill already.
  • Work directly with the suppliers in managing the cafe
  • Make sure the cafe is always welcoming, presentable and tidy
  • Provide continued leadership and support to the cafe barista and direct retail operations
  • Monitor access systems and help to prepare move-in and move-out schedules for smooth transitions and work flow
  • Conduct quality-control building walkthroughs to note immediate issues, pre-empt potential future issues, and identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare progress reports on the community

Barista

  • Conduct the day-to-day management including Barista of the BiteUnite café to deliver an exceptional café experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Explain BiteUnite kitchen policies and procedures to members
  • Conduct walk-through tours of the kitchen to interested parties
  • Explain the BiteUnite concept to interested parties
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager, by sending photos and kitchen updates
  • Consolidate insights and feedback from members to report back to the team
  • Address any kitchen concerns from members and provide ongoing support
  • Supervise in-kitchen events for compliance with house rules and ensure smooth operations
  • Ensure members are adhering to the kitchen rules and hygiene procedures
  • Work directly with the suppliers in managing the cafe
  • Make sure the cafe is always welcoming, presentable and tidy
  • Monitor access systems and help to prepare move-in and move-out schedules for smooth transitions and work flow
  • Prepare progress reports on the community and cafe to feedback to the team

waiter/waitress part-time

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greeting and seating customers.
  • Taking and serving food/drink orders.
  • Supporting bartenders and chefs as needed.
  • Handle cash and credit cards.
  • Follow safety rules and prevent accidents.
  • Position Requirements and Expectations:
  • Able to clearly communicate with customers and coworkers.
  • Experience in the food service industry (previous waiter/waitress experience is preferred).
  • Good with basic arithmetic.
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Able to frequently lift and balance up to 25lbs.
  • Hardworking team player.
  • Punctual and dependable.
